This is a temporary position that may last up to 6 months.

As part of the federal licenses for many of PGE’s generation facilities, PGE’s parks and recreation facilities are available to the general public. Our parks help protect natural areas, develop the economy by attracting tourism, and provide recreational and learning opportunities for families, including a Junior Rangers program for children.

Park Technicians, Seasonal positions (T-19-1898)

We are now accepting applications for the 2020 season. Park Technicians support the operation and maintenance of PGE’s parks and recreation sites and amenities on the Clackamas and Pelton Round Butte Hydroelectric Projects and other company-sponsored locations. They ensure the safety and quality of PGE managed parks and recreation sites and amenities. We have competitive pay! Last season our Park Techs made $17.98 per hour.

Our Park Technicians priority is maintaining our recreation sites. Assignments and work locations are subject to change during the season to meet operational needs. Ability to safely work out-of-doors in potentially adverse weather condition. Perform maintenance with hand and hand-operated power tools including assisting with minor building and facility repairs, sign installation and routine equipment maintenance. Inspection for and report of trail, building and facility repair issues and safety concerns to supervisor. Conduct landscaping relating to seasonally required maintenance such as mowing, trimming vegetation, raking debris and clearing trails and roads.

Ability to operate park vehicles and equipment at any time of day or night.
Ability to work safely daily in an outdoor setting.
Working knowledge of basic maintenance and landscape tools.
Must have a valid driver’s license with evidence of safe driving habits.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and on a team.
Flexibility with work assignments and job duties.
Organizational and time-management skills for daily planning and completion of all tasks safely.
