Annie And Abel Van Meter state park is a small 1,000 acre park with a small 22 site campground nestled in the Missouri river bottoms. The park is home to remnants of the Missouria Indian village that sat at the Great Bend of the Missouri River, marked on a map by Jacques Marquette and Louis Jolliet in 1673. The campground stays pretty quiet during the week and is usually about half full on most weekends except for holiday weekends. Normal days off for hosts is Monday and Tuesday but that can vary thru the week, giving you the opportunity to get out and explore the area.
