Company Description

The Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA Journey in northeast Wyoming is a family-owned and operated campground surrounded by the historic Campstool Ranch established in 1882. In 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt named Devils Tower America’s First National Monument. In 1977, Steven Spielberg filmed his sci-fi classic “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” on the property and the campground was established shortly thereafter in 1979. The local area boasts great museums, outdoor activities, locally-owned shops, and a variety of great dining. The campground is also a great base camp for adventures in the Black Hills and Badlands with longer weekends available to explore Cody and Yellowstone.
